Who, me? Yes, you.
J'aime des choses jolies.
"Eres una estrella brillante ahora y por siempre."

Your typical 16 year old living in a provincial town with dreams and aspirations that will never be achieved.
I am an unprecedented idiot.

^ That doesn’t even make sense.

Alright, so I applied for the Summer School for my ultimate dream school (starts with a C, ends with a -ellon)…the worst part it, I saw an awesome program, was a bit too ecstatic, and then immediately applied. Then I found that that it was only relevant for U.S. citizens. Whoops. And then I immediately emailed them asking to delete it from the system (seriously Becca, seriously!?), double whoops.

So, if said admissions officer is reading this: I swear, I am not actually that bizarre of a character (but you were looking for diversity), I am just incredibly - to a point, desperate - to be part of your university in absolutely any way that I can. I would probably even hack into your servers to delete the email…and the application. Except, y’know, your university is almost holy and everyone who goes there are probably deities of anything related to Information Systems and, well, anything to do with technology.

It might just be a freak out.

Or…

Yeah, well, I am an idiot. And seriously I should have just waited until they told me I was ineligible! I was just….very excited. I suppose. For the lack of a better word.

On the bright side: Australia tomorrow. They can’t find me there.

Automated emails from universities make me feel all happy and gooey on the inside.

Kirov Ballet

Alla Osipenko as Odile in ‘Swan Lake’ - 1960’s. Osipenko was one of the last dancers to graduate under the great teacher (and Petipa-ballerina) Agrippina Vaganova herself. Her extension and gorgeously shaped legs gave her dancing a contemporary feel (though her purity of line continues to artistically challenge many over-extensions in present-day ballet). Osipenko possessed a huge jump, but an injury early in her career prevented her to use it. She danced all the classical ballerina roles that required true grandeur, but she seemed to feel more at ease in the creations of the period (such as The Mistress of the Copper Mountain in ‘The Stone Flower,’ Mekhmeneh-Banu in ‘Legend of Love’). Her decision to seek challenges and therefore leave the Kirov (at 40) always sat well with the Western press, who were undoubtedly inspired by observations of the famous defecting dancers, who deemed the Kirov artistically unfulfilling. Nevertheless, the important legacy of the beautiful Osipenko is preserved in snippets of Swan Lake, her grand interpretation of the Petipa/Lupokhov Lilac Fairy (Sleeping Beauty) and shorter works of Leonid Jacobson.

Internet Blackout of the Day: The Great Wikipedia Blackout of 2012 has begun.
Reddit, TwitPic, Mozilla, Mojang, and thousands of others will soon follow suit. The Internet is officially on strike! Why? Because the House and Senate are conspiring with the entertainment industry to break the Internet.
Make no mistake: SOPA has not been shelved. And a vote on PIPA is just around the corner. Luckily, hundreds of companies, charities, and notable individuals with strong moral character have joined forces to stop these dangerous Big Brother bills from moving forward.
The fight is far from over, but hopefully today’s blackout will help bring this important matter to the attention of folks who rely on the Internet for entertainment and education, but have so far remained oblivious to SOPA and PIPA and their harmful consequences.
Do your part. Take action. Stop SOPA and PIPA and put an end to threat of Internet censorship.

Obama won’t veto NDAA.

How did he get his Nobel peace prize again?

The Garden of Earthly Delightsby Hieronymus Bosch
Bosch, a renowned Northern Renaissance artist, is known for his abstract and imaginative paintings.
The Garden of Earthly delights is triptych. It depicts paradise with Adam and Eve and many wondrous animals on the left panel. The earthly delights contains many figures and tremendous food and bird. The right panel depicts hell and the “fantastic” punishments that sinners have to go through.
He uses traditional Flemish styles - it is relatively flat, with a slightly awkward perspective, the colors are contrasted, and he provides very detailed…details, for the lack of a better word. He also uses a lot of imagery, which was common amongst Northern Renaissance artists - painters of the international style.
I personally love this painting due to the brilliant colors but also because of how happy it looks…until you look at the details of what the people are doing. He introduces religions imagery in a relatively fantastical way.
